The Bedtime Routine

Friday, August 11, 2006 · 2 Comments

Before bed, we read 1,2,3 or more stories depending on the time and the grumpiness of all concerned. Recently this process has become more complicated. Dad and Mum now have to ‘buy’ the stories from Dan’s shop. When the shopkeeper wishes to sell books this process goes well and all customers are given imaginary chocolate money to eat while reading their purchase.

Fantastic – are you able to use your library card if you run out of imaginary chocolate money?

No. You have made the same mistake I did. The buyer does not give the shopkeeper the money. The shopkeeper gives both the book and imaginary chocolate money. The shopkeeper, in an extraordinary display of fine service also peels the gold foil from the chocolate money so all you have to do is pretend to eat it!
